Thanks to a generous donation from an anonymous funder, History Theatre has established the Lance Belville Fund for New Play Development. This new fund honors the memory of History Theatre’s founding Playwright-In-Residence and eventual co-artistic Director.
History Theatre is dedicated to its long tradition of commissioning and producing original plays and musicals about Minnesota, the Midwest, and our diverse American experience. Gifts made to this fund support the Theatre’s investment in new works through playwright commissions and paying playwrights a competitive rate. Programs like Raw Stages and Next Stages provide a professional workshop setting and a staged reading with an audience to gather feedback and develop their work for the main stage.
History Theatre has created more than 125 new works that have touched people’s lives and engaged audiences. You gift can help to create the next 125!
