Take part in a new script’s first brave steps from the page to stage!
History Theatre regularly commissions new work and has produced over 115 world premieres since 1978. The RAW STAGES New Works Festival is an opportunity for YOU to get an inside look at the script development process and provide feedback for the playwrights.
RAW STAGES consists of four staged readings of scripts-in-progress, directed and performed by professional artists.

A new play about the Northwest Airlines stewardess who challenged the status quo and went sky-high with the fight for gender equality in the workplace.
Thu. Jan. 15, 7pm: HIGHWAYMEN by Josh Wilder
Director: Jamil Jude
A new drama about the politics and controversy surrounding the construction of I-94 through St. Paul’s Rondo Neighborhood.
Sat. Jan. 17, 2pm: ERNEST AND THE BULL by Kevin Kautzman
Director: Amy Rummenie
A new drama about Hemingway's final days at the Mayo Clinic as he wrestles with fading memory, declining health, and what might be his ultimate writer's block.
Sun. Jan. 18, 2pm: COMPLICATED FUN: THE MINNEAPOLIS MUSIC SCENE by Alan Berks
Director: Dominic Taylor
A new musical-theater piece about the legendary 80’s scene in Minneapolis.
